چکیده
This is a correction of an earlier published article. Although Dr. Tchou-Wong and Dr. Rom were originally meant to be first and seventh authors, respectively, they were left off the authorship list when this manuscript was submitted to BMC Cancer [1]. We sincerely apologise to Dr. Tchou-Wong and Dr. Rom, and have reinstated them to their appropriate places within the author list. Funding sources for this research include MO1-RR00096, RO1-ES0916 and NHMRC402510. In addition, improper software conversion resulted inmissing histogram bars in figure 7 of the article. This iscorrected in figure 1. References1. The expression of ROM is downregulated in lung cancer celllinesFigure 1The expression of ROM is downregulated in lung can-cer cell lines. Real-time PCR detected high levels of ROM innormal lung tissue and in the small cell lung cancer H526.The presence of ROM was, however, strongly reduced inseveral other lung cancer cell lines; H1299, Calu-1, A549 andH187.

Anti-cancer effects and molecular mechanisms of sour tea (Hibiscus sabdariffa) in the human cellular model (A549) of lung cancer
Background and Aims: Lung cancer is one of the most common malignancies worldwide that despite the recent progress, its existing treatments have not sufficient efficiency, and scientists are always trying to find complementary therapies. Medicinal plants, such as sour tea, have attracted lots of attention due to their abundant antioxidant compounds. In the present study, in addition to assessin...
متن کاملCytotoxic and Antioxidant Activity of a Set of Hetero Bicylic Methylthiadiazole Hydrazones: A Structure-Activity Study
The current study highlights the in vitro antioxidant and antitumor activity of the previously-synthesized hydrazone derivatives against various free radicals and human cancer cell lines, respectively. The anticancer efficacies of the compound were tested by measuring cytotoxicity in cancer cell lines HeLa, A549, and non-cancerous NL20 cells. Compounds possessing electron-donor methoxy and me...
متن کاملDifferential genes expression analysis of invasive aspergillosis: a bioinformatics study based on mRNA/microRNA
Invasive aspergillosis is a severe opportunistic infection with high mortality in immunocompromised patients. Recently, the roles of microRNAs have been taken into consideration in the immune system and inflammatory responses. Using bioinformatics approaches, we aimed to study the microRNAs related to invasive aspergillosis to understand the molecular pathways involved in the disease pathogenes...
متن کاملIdentification of a Novel Tumor-Binding Peptide for Lung Cancer Through in-vitro Panning
Tumor-targeted therapies are playing growing roles in cancer research. The exploitation of these powerful therapeutic modalities largely depends on the discovery of tumor-targeting ligands. Phage display has proven a promising high throughput screening tool for the identification of novel specific peptides with high binding affinity to cancer cells. In the present study, we describe the use of ...
متن کاملBioinformatics Identification of miRNA-mRNA Regulatory Network Contributing Primary Lung Cancer
Introduction: In clinical practice, distinguishing invasive lung tumors from primary tumors remains a challenge. With recent advances in understanding biological alterations of tumorigenesis and molecular analytic technologies, using these molecular alterations can be sensitive and tumor-specific as biomarker for the stratification of patients. In this study, the molecular network of miRNA-mRNA...
